This workshop will cover the use of safe, effective and ethical infection prevention and control measures which is an important component of nursing care. Nurses are expected to be aware of applicable CNO standards, relevant legislation, best practices and organizational policies related to infection prevention and control.
Presenter: Bessie Nasiopoulos, RN, BScN
Bessie brings over 20 years of extensive nursing experience, including international practice in Infectious Disease and Medical/Oncology units. Since registering as an RN in Ontario in 2014 and spending over 6 years as a certified chemotherapy RN with Sunnybrook Health Sciences, Bessie has shifted her professional focus to support fellow IENs and their partners in care. Drawing on her past experience as a Clinical Educator and Nursing Administrator, Bessie currently holds the dual role of Case Manager and Professional Development Lead with CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses. Bessie is passionate about supporting IEN integration through education sessions, professional partnerships, and programming initiatives.
