CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses is a not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to helping internationally educated nurses (IENs) become Registered Nurses (RNs) or Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) and re-establish their careers in the Canadian health care system. CARE Centre provides several programs and supports tailored to meet the needs of newcomer nurses at any stage of their journey.

The Supports, Training and Access to Regulated-employment Services (STARS) Program offers intensive, Ontario-focused nursing supports for internationally educated nurses. The STARS Program is funded by the Government of Ontario.

The Pre-Arrival and Post-Arrival Supports and Services Program (PASS) is a pan-Canadian program that helps internationally educated nurses prepare to work in the nursing profession, with supports before and after landing in Canada. The PASS Program is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

These programs offer one-on-one case management to help IENs understand regulatory requirements, prepare for exams (such as CELBAN, NCLEX/CPNRE or IENCAP/OSCE), and build job search skills including resume development and interview practice. CARE Centre also delivers language and communication training, professional development workshops, nursing mentoring and networking opportunities, and observational job shadowing to help nurses successfully integrate into Canadian workplaces.

CARE Centre was founded in 2001 to address the challenges many internationally trained nurses face in navigating the regulatory and employment landscape in Ontario, and since then more than 7,000 nurses from over 140 countries have accessed its services.
