Become a Member
As a CARE centre member, you have access to our Supports Training & Access to Regulated-employment Services (STARS) program. This program supports Internationally Educated Nurses who have decided to settle in the province of Ontario.
Membership Includes:
- A dedicated Case Manager
- Language supports
- Exam preparation supports
- Settlement referral
- Observational job shadowing
- Employment supports
- Academic supports
- A one-year student membership to the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) or the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (WeRPN)
- iCELBAN assessment
- Unlimited case management support
- Mentorship opportunities with expert nurses in practice settings
Membership Requirements:
- Permanent Residents of Ontario, Canadian Citizens, Convention Refugees, and Refugee Claimants who are eligible to work in Ontario
- Completed Nursing Program outside Canada with licensure from the country of where nursing was practiced
- IENs with proof of CLB 7 or higher, achievable through CARE Centre’s Language Assessment process
- Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET) visa holders can now apply
Requirements:
– Open work permit
– Have a 900 series SIN
– Meet EO program eligibility and suitability requirements
Membership Fees:
There is a one-time, non-refundable membership fee of $150 to join CARE Centre. Extra course and material costs vary depending on your individual action plan. Speak to a CARE Centre Case Manager about financial supports available to IENs.
