Courses & Workshops

At CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs), we are committed to educating the IENs of tomorrow and place a strong emphasis on Professional Development (PD) to help them realize their full potential to become clinically and culturally competent members of our healthcare systems. Based on our individualized case management approach, data analyzed from our participant surveys and our close working relationship with regulatory bodies, professional organizations, and employers, we continuously update the PD program accordingly to fulfill IENs’ specific educational needs in an interactive and forward-thinking approach. Our PD workshops delivered in a hybrid format are nimble, specific and timely, reflecting the rapidly changing licensure and job-related requirements. They cover the four main areas identified: communication, essential skills, exam preparation, employment and career advancement. Results have been incredibly promising, especially post-pandemic, with an average of 6 workshops offered per month and an average monthly participation of 90 IENs. The increasing participation of our IEN members and the growing interest from healthcare employers seeking to collaborate with us in offering professional development opportunities to their IEN staff is truly encouraging.

Our PD workshops are delivered in a hybrid format and cover 4 categories:
