YOUR SUCCESS IS CARE CENTRE’S SUCCESS
Nursing Week 2024 proved to be highly successful. Throughout the week-long event, CARE Centre facilitated a diverse array of engaging and informative webinars, providing a platform for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) to share their remarkable experiences and insights.
The week also served as a testament to the enduring resilience and adaptability of nurses in the face of evolving challenges. As the healthcare landscape continues to undergo dynamic transformations, nurses remain at the forefront, navigating complexities with steadfast resolve and compassion.
As an organization dedicated to supporting and empowering IENs on their professional journey, CARE Centre remains deeply committed to fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity within the nursing community.

Happy National Nursing Week 2024!
National Nursing Week shines a spotlight on nursing in Canada, giving all of us a chance to recognize nurses for the immense contributions they make to healthcare across this country, and how their work impacts each and every one of us. This year's Nursing Week theme is Changing Lives. Shaping Tomorrow. It’s a time to reflect on and acknowledge the vital role that all nurses play in every aspect of the sector, improving health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities, always looking to the future to evolve the profession to new levels of achievement. Part of that growth and development is acknowledging the increasing importance of internationally educated nurses (IENs) in our healthcare system. This year, at events such as the International Congress of Nurses in Montreal in 2023, or the more recent Nursing Leadership Network conference, IENs were at the forefront. In the past, IENs went through their settlement, registration, and employment challenges largely unsupported, until organizations like CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses (CARE Centre) were founded to join them in their journey. Today we have regulatory, academic and employer partners creating special pathways for IENs to get more quickly licensed, hired, and given more focused orientation for their transition and integration and we thank them for it. CARE Centre has always valued the clinical expertise and linguistic and cultural skills IENs offer in strengthening the increasingly diverse Canadian healthcare system, and we’ll continue to promote IENs’ full inclusion and progression in their careers. We are grateful for the generous support of our Federal and Provincial funders, who make our work possible. Together we salute all nurses and honour them with a special week of online events showcasing Canadian Nursing leaders of whom many are IENs. We hope you’ll take part and help us keep telling IENs’ stories of determination and commitment. We celebrate with you because IENs’ success is CARE Centre’s success!
