Shaping the Future of IENs through Mentorship and Collaboration

We have the honor to start our 2024 Nursing week celebrations with opening remarks from Dr. Velji, Chief of Nursing and Professional Practice and Assistant Deputy Minister for the Province of Ontario. We will then continue discussing the emerging themes from a qualitative study that explores the employment trajectory of Filipino nurses in Ontario and how organizations like the Integrated Filipino-Canadian Nurses Association (IFCNA) are making a significant impact in the IEN’s journey to success and integration into the Canadian healthcare system. Additionally, we will illustrate how peer mentorship and collaboration with other organizations and government agencies create waves of change in shaping the future of IENs in Canada.
