This workshop will orient participants to Palliative Care in the Canadian healthcare context. An overview of Hospice Palliative Care philosophy will support an understanding of goals of care discussions, end-of-life care and the nurse’s role.

Presenter: Maria Lippa

Maria Lippa has a Masters in Nursing and has worked as a clinical nurse specialist in palliative care at the Toronto Western Hospital and the University Health Network.
Maria has collaborated, mentored and guided physicians, nurses and inter-professional health teams in providing quality pain/symptom management, end-of-life care, future planning and goals of care discussion.
