Nursing Week 2026 Message

It is my great pleasure, as the new Executive Director of CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs), to wish everyone a Happy Nursing Week on behalf of our organization and Board of Directors, led by our new Chair, Lesley Hirst, a fellow IEN.

This year is especially meaningful as CARE Centre celebrates 25 years of supporting IENs in Ontario through provincially funded programs, as well as our nationally delivered Pre-Arrival and Post-Arrival (PASS) program funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, which now provides services to IENs across Canada.

Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system, and Nursing Week offers an opportunity to recognize and celebrate their dedication, compassion, and leadership. IENs enrich Canada’s healthcare workforce with valuable global knowledge, skills, and lived experiences while contributing to a diverse and inclusive workforce that is reflective of the communities nurses serve across the country for better healthcare outcomes.

CARE Centre extends its heartfelt appreciation to all nurses and to those who support them. We invite you to join us in celebrating Nursing Week and engaging with our special programming throughout this milestone anniversary year.

Sincerely,

Rola El Moubadder, Executive Director
