Meet the Employer: The Region of Durham’s Long-Term Care Homes
The Region of Durham’s Long-Term Care homes offer meaningful and rewarding careers for individuals dedicated to supporting older adults and their families.
As part of our team, staff join a compassionate and collaborative community where every role contributes to residents’ well-being, dignity, and quality of life. Our homes foster a culture rooted in respect, teamwork, and professional growth, supported by comprehensive training and development opportunities that enable staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
The Region operates four municipal long-term care homes: Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa (300 residents supported by approximately 470 staff), Hillsdale Terraces in Oshawa (200 residents and about 300 staff), Fairview Lodge in Whitby (198 residents supported by 380 staff), and Lakeview Manor in Beaverton (147 residents with 228 staff)each offering a unique care environment and a strong sense of community. Additionally, Adult Day Programs across the region provide social engagement, meals, and supportive services that help participants maintain independence while offering valuable respite for caregivers. Together, these programs reflect the Region’s commitment to creating supportive environments where residents, families, and staff can thrive
